Progress:
FLIP Group Research
FLIP Presentation:
After finalising our topic, Sea Pollution in Southeast Asia, we began distributing tasks for the FLIP presentation to ensure
everything was prepared before the presentation day.
- Introduction: Pricillia, Lizzie
- Reasons Behind The Topic: Grabiela, Ying Ying (Me)
- Objectives of the Video: Alya
- Target Audience: Jordan
- Key Information & Data: Rafa, Jovan

Miro Board:
Lizzie and Pricill created a Miro board and added sections, including
Introduction, Facts, Preventions, Moodboard, and Target Audience. Our
task is to fill in the parts related to our FLIP topic. Below is the
task distribution:
- Introduction:
- Definition: Pricillia
- Facts and Figures of Sea Pollution: Grabiela
- Sea Pollution in General: Pricillia
- Sea Pollution in Southeast Asia:
- General Information: Lizzie
- Facts and Figures: Justin
- Causes: Ying Ying (Me)
- Actions Done: Rafa
- Prevention of Sea Pollution: Lizzie

Pre-production
Storyboard:
Lizzie assigned roles to each group member to ensure everyone had a clear
vision and target for completing the task. Rafa, Alya, and Grabiela were
put in charge of creating the storyboard.
Figure FP.3: Storyboard (Initial), Week 5 (07/03/2025)
Before starting the animation, Lizzie, Pricillia, and I finalised the
storyboard to ensure it fits within the 1.5 to 3 minutes duration.
Figure FP.4: Storyboard (Finalised), Week 6 (16/03/2025)
Script:
The script was initially assigned to Justin, Jovan, Jordan, Lizzie, and
Pricillia. However, in the end, it was mainly handled by me, Lizzie, and
Pricillia.

Animation:
For the animation, Lizzie and I attempted to use Canva. However, we
found it challenging due to Canva's limited animation tools. On the
same day, we showed our Canva attempt to Mr. Shamsul, who advised us
to create our own illustrations instead of using Canva's stickers and
elements.

We then switched to Adobe After Effects to create the animation. To
manage the workload efficiently, we distributed tasks based on the
script sections as follows:
- Illustrate Elements: Pricillia
- Animation:
- Intro: Lizzie
- Causes & Impacts: Rafa, Lizzie
- General Info, Prevention, Ending: Ying Ying (Me)
Before starting the animation, I used Adobe Illustrator to create the
composition in separate layers, which I then imported into Adobe After
Effects for the next steps.

The overall animation process was somewhat frustrating, but I learned
how to use a new tool—the Puppet Tool. I was surprised by how it could
make objects move with a jiggly effect (since I was animating the fish). Honestly, that part was fun.

For the audio part, I used Adobe Premiere Pro to sync the audio
with the animation scenes.

Voice-Over:
We had two characters for the voice-over: the narrator and Bob (the Nemo
fish). Jovan was responsible for the narrator's voice, while Justin voiced
Bob. Here’s the Google Drive link, which contains the voice-over files.
All the animation and voice-overs are available here:

Post Production
Video Compilation:
Jordan took charge of video compilation, including editing, sound effects (SFX), and assembling all the animation clips. Here is Jordan's progress on the SFX.

Adding Subtitles:
Justin and Jovan were responsible for adding subtitles, with Lizzie providing suggestions on improving the subtitle font and effects. Here is progress on adding subtitles.

FEEDBACKS
Week 3 (17/02/2025)
Specific Feedback: The overall presentation is good. You can
use Canva for animations since it offers visually appealing themes and
elements that align well with your target audience—children.
General Feedback: You can now proceed with the next steps,
including storyboard development, video animation, and other
preparations.
Week 6 (12/03/2025)
Specific Feedback: Mr. Shamsul asked us to create our own
illustrations instead of using Canva's stickers and elements.
General Feedback: Complete the Final Project by Week
7.
REFLECTIONS
Experience
This group project has been exhausting—managing everything was no easy task.
Not all group members contributed their parts, but despite the challenges,
we still managed to complete the project before the deadline. I truly
appreciate those who worked hard and put in real effort.
At the same time, I felt a bit confused during the feedback process,
especially when we found out we couldn’t use Canva stickers or elements as
we originally planned. In the end, we relied on Adobe software to complete
the animation. Honestly, I would recommend using Adobe software over Canva,
as Canva’s limited animation tools made it much harder to work with.
Observation
Using Canva for animation was challenging due to its limited tools, which
slowed progress. Adobe software proved more flexible and effective for
creating complex animations.
Findings
Working on this project allowed me to learn new tools, like Adobe After
Effects' Puppet Tool, which enhanced my animation skills and made the
process more enjoyable.
