PROJECT 1A - PHYSICAL COLLAGE & DIGITAL COLLAGE
Week 2 (03/10/2023)
Physical Collage
Progress: Week 02
The final composition is pre-composition #2, which is chosen by Mr Fauzi.
Figure P1.1: Final Composition (Final Submission), Week 3 (13/10/2023)
Description: The concept of this pre-composition is action speaks louder than words. As you can see, the person is holding a jar with a pouring gesture, and then I decided to cut out the article as the water. I tried to make it balance with the visual weight, such as the article as the water.

Digital Collage
Progress: Week 03
Final Submission of Digital Collage.

Progress: Week 04
Figure P1.3: Final Submission of Digital Collage (Adjustment Layers & Filters), Week 4 (19/10/2023)
Description: I explored the selective colour on the typewriter because I want to change the colour to cyan, so it can match the orange colour behind the there (circle top left). Besides that, I also screenshot the changes I make for the selective colour. After changing the selective colour, I merge the layer (selective colour layer) down to the typewriter.

Experience
This is my first time taking an online class for this degree, it's quite special to me because I used to go to class in my previous Foundation in Design although I had experienced online classes before during COVID-19. Besides that, I didn't feel bored at all, I found it quite interesting to learn, and although I was having some difficulties using Photoshop at first time yet Mr Fauzi helped me a lot with it, I felt grateful on his guidance and feedback. To be honest, these exercises were really fun to do because I can photoshop myself in the Hearst mansion although it really looked funny to me. Besides that, the recolouring on black and white photo exercise was quite easy to do because I did some similar things on ibisPaintX before (e.g. adjusting colour with their filter).
Observation
I observed that I wasn't good at using Photoshop and bad at memorising the shortcut keys, especially removing backgrounds. While doing exercise digital imaging exercise 2, I noticed that I always forget to clip the mask on specific layers so it ruined everything.
