Figure P1.2: Digital Collage, Week 4 (19/10/2023)
Description: Personally, I choose this as my best composition because this composition doesn’t look more complicated than the others, what I mean is this composition gives a more ‘clear’ look to the viewers. I’ve learned how to use the pen tool, remove the background to extract the object, shape out the image with a rectangular marquee tool, and more. The concept of this composition is ‘glitch’, which is inspired by ‘WandaVision’ (TV Mini Series 2021). I changed the texture (circle, below left) into hue, the rubber plant into luminosity, and texture (circle, top left) into darker colour while exploring the tools. After that, I explored the selective colour on the typewriter because I want to change the colour to cyan, so it can match the orange colour behind the there (circle top left). Besides that, I also screenshot the changes I make for the selective colour. After changing the selective colour, I merge the layer (selective colour layer) down to the typewriter.

Title: The Orange Globe
Description: The spherical form of the orange can visually parallel the shape of the globe. In my point of view, orange can be seen as "Wholeness or Completeness", because of its round shape, an orange can be a symbol of wholeness or unity, just as a globe does for the world as a whole. Besides that, it also can be seen as cycles. Since oranges are a fruit that ripens and grows in cycles, they could mean growth, time passing, or renewal. It has warm, calming tones, which also reminded me of peaceful.

Title: CONNECT
Music: Happy Footsteps by Purple Planet Music
Artist Statement: As I mentioned before, my work is about harmony, making the audience feel connected to one another. The concept is to bring people together by encouraging empathy and understanding, bringing diverse people together in a moment of connection and respect, and reminding people of our common humanity. The word CONNECT is about continuing to develop interactions, ideas, and understanding. It looks simple to understand, everything is connected such as humans, animals, culture, history and more. I hope that people will recognize the richness in our differences and recognise the greatness of our shared humanity. In my point of view, my poster is about more than just making art; it is about building bridges between people, cultures, and ideas.
